It sounds as if your fan has a bushing or bearing problem. Check the electrical continuity to the fan when you turn the sled on cold. See if you have electrical power (continuity) to the fan when it quits.

Ski-Doo 550 Fan shuts off?
I have a 2005 ski-doo Rev 550 fan, and I was riding it the other day and it shut right off. After a few minutes, I started it up and it ran fine. And it did the same thing over and over. I found a grounded wire that may have been grounding, fixed it. And now, It runs.. But after a few minutes of riding it begins to start making a grinding noise. Then shuts off. It has 6100 miles..
