Are pocket bikes legal to ride around on streets?

I turn 15 next month and well I was thinking about buying a pocket bike, because they look fun, and I have the money for it. and well I moved to a new house that is farther away from my friends then i'd like. So I wanted to get a pocket bike so that i could ride it to their houses and stuff. they live probably a few miles away (guesstimating) I live in St. George Utah and i just wanted to know if it would be illegal for me to ride it around our neighborhoods so that i could go to their houses and stuff. Are pocket bikes legal to ride around on streets?
Check Utah DMV and see what they say about 'Mopeds"- some states will let 14/15 year olds get a permit for them so legal to ride on roads. Pocket bikes are toys, off road use mainly. A couple 49cc scrambler/ pocket bike types with lights have been registered in Wisconsin and Iowa as mopeds.
Are they licensed? No. Therefore, are they legal to operate on public streets? No. If you ride your unlicensed illegal motor vehicle on public streets will someone report you to the police? I hope so. Will you be ticketed and pay a fine? I hope so. Do you have insurance? No. If you hit my parked car while riding your illegal motor vehicle is your insurance company going to pay for the damage? No, because you don't have insurance. Are YOU going to pay for the damage? No, because you have no job. Are your parents going to pay for the damage? Yes, but they won't be happy about it.Are pocket bikes legal to ride around on streets?
you can ride them on neighborhood streets without people saying much if you follow traffic laws and its not too loud but they are a waste of money and break all the time parts are hard to find for them too

my opinion is dont buy chinese made ****
technically any unregistered vehicle is illegal to drive on the streets but I'm sure you could ride it all you want and no one will say boo to you.Are pocket bikes legal to ride around on streets?
Sure they are. And when the cop books you or confiscates your toy you will be able to tell him its okay cos everybody on YA said so.
nope, anything driven public roads with an engine has to be street legal and registered to you, use that money towards a car/truck when you get a license, and if you tried riding it without it being legal some cops will let you go but some will give tickets, depends on where you live, why take the chance on getting tickets with fines totaled that are more than the bike itself probably cost

now you can ride it all you want on private areas but not on public roads unless its legal

but what you could do is get a moped/scooter with a 49cc or smaller engine or doesn't go above 35 mph, where you live im not sure if they go by engine size or top speed, or even both, but find out what would be legal for you to ride because if you have a small enough moped/scooter than you don't need a license at all to ride on public roads

but don't waste your money on a pocket bike, either use it for a moped/scooter until you can get a car/truck and sell the moped/scooter or just save all the money and ride a bike
