Are pocket bikes legal to drive in neighborhoods?

I live in Maryland and there is a 12 year old who is constantly riding his bike thru our parking lot and on the sidewalks. and to boot, he doesnt wear a helmet. After almost hitting him a few days ago (because he was driving recklessly), I wonder if I should call the police about it.

ThanksAre pocket bikes legal to drive in neighborhoods?
Pocket bikes are illegal on any public roadway. Parking lots are exempt only if the lot owner gives permission to ride there and has an area cordoned off for it. Pocket bikes are illegal on any sidewalk regardless of the location.
I believe they are banned on public roads in Maryland.

It's illegal to drive any motor vehicle on the sidewalk for obvious reasons. It's also obviously illegal to ride one across private land without permission.

There's a policy here in Britain by the police to immediately confiscate and crush these annoying things bought by idiotic parents when caught tearing along sidewalks and public roads...

I would certainly call the police, preferably with an independant witness who will support the complaint.

You're not being a busybody - you might save this kids life or a person he might hit...Are pocket bikes legal to drive in neighborhoods?
