The California Vehicle Code is quite clear on the subject of Pocket Bikes:

=======

21720. A pocket bike shall not be operated on a sidewalk, roadway, or any other part of a highway, or on a bikeway, bicycle path or trail, equestrian trail, hiking or recreational trail, or on public lands open to off-highway motor vehicle use.

21721. (a) A peace officer... may cause the removal and seizure of a pocket bike.... A pocket bike so seized shall be held for a minimum of 48 hours.

(b) A violator of this section shall be responsible for all costs associated with the removal, seizure, and storage of the pocket bike.

=======

Translated: You cannot legally ride a pocket bike anywhere in public. If caught the bike can be seized and held for a minimum of 48 hours. You will be responsible for the costs of removal, siezure and stroage *even if you do not recover your pocket bike*. This could be several times more than what you paid for the bike in the first place.

A pocket bike cannot be registerd or licensed for street use in California. You cannot get a license to operate a pocket bike. About the only legal place to ride a pocket bike is in your back yard. They are just about the most useless toy you can possibly get.Are Pocket bikes allowed in Los Angeles CA?

The only place you can ride is in your backyard, or up and down your driveway. Save your money until you can get a real motorcycle
They're not allowed on a public street.

You'd have to ride it on private property.
