96 ski doo formula III 600 rebuild?

i orderd a wiseco piston top end rebuild kit and after i did i had a friend tell me i should have just got regular ski doo pistons because the wiseco pistons expand and will lock up if i dont have my cylinder walls machined..how true is this...the kit i got was for my sled and where it said bore it said std96 ski doo formula III 600 rebuild?
You have to have your cylinders bored or honed to suit ANY change of pistons. You can't just slap new ones in, and expect them to work! Wiseco makes top-quality parts, by the way.96 ski doo formula III 600 rebuild?
If your top end on your ski is worn beyond the service limit or you had a seizure you will have to have the cylinder bored and honed. This will increase your bore size and you will need the next oversize piston and ring set. The standard bore pistons you bought are for cylinders that are not worn or for someone who has a standard bore sleeve pressed into their cylinder. Most oversize kits come in sizes like 030. 040. 040. thousandths of an inch over or they come in metric sizes like 72mm 74mm 76mm etc. hope this makes sense.
