What about Greek cuisine, Greek merchant navy, Greek military being from the best in the world, Greek tourism, Olympics 2004 being the best ever, Papanikolaou inventing Test PAP which saves millions of life every year, all these Greek sport, arts, literature, music figures or all the Greeks of Diaspora who overachieve in every field of society there is, wherever they go?
Did all these things happened 600 years ago? I don't think so!
Maybe it's time for Greeks to realize that being proud and give credit to yourself is not as fascist as the modern disease of liberalism present it to be? As a woman i will say that the most important modern Greek contribution to the world it's undoubtedly the Pap smear. Also Greek cuisine, the heroic resistance of the Greeks against the Nazis and the victorious war against the fascist Italy of Benito Mussolini, super sexy and hot guys like my Greek boyfriend and Peter Andre, Greek hospitality, the beautiful Greek islands, great Greek writers and musicians, Maria Callas, and many more.

Some one said yesterday that being a greek is a PRIVILAGE... but when he acts as though he is the ONLY greek who knows every thing..and deameans other greeks..then his PRIVLEGE of being are greek should be revoked.......

A TRUE GREEK CONTRIBUTES TO THE WORLD,,@ ANY CORNER OF IT, WHEN HIS HEART BEATS NOTHING BUT...GREEK FILOTIMO AND GREEK KALOSENI......these 2 aspects is what a greek is all about....with out these 2 things ...there is no contribution....or a SO CALLED PRIVILAGE...to being greek.
Of course we have as a nation many things contributed to society and the world.
Going back to almost 200 years the Revolutionary Wars against the Ottoman occupation was one major contribution along with the rest of the Balkan countries that rose against them.
The contributions of Hatzidakis, Theodorakis,Vangelis, Yianis, Kallas to name only a few in the musical realm.
The major contribution of the PAP Test that saves the lives of women the world over is unparalleled.
The efforts of Greece in keeping the peace in the Middle East and the Arab world is a contribution not greatly appreciated, but all the same it exists contrary to the efforts of our neighbors.
Finally the organizing of the opening and the closing ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games in which with simple and yet so full in content presentations we showed the world the continuance of the Greek History.
