Are you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?

I went to the bank today. A rude 20's something valley girl cut in front of me in line. She was chatting loudly on her cell phone. I told her, excuse me, but there is a line here. She responded, well, you were just standing there off to the side... I said, well, if you weren't on your cell phone, you might be paying more attention. Then it was a verbal war. The 50's something vs the 20's something. She then proceeded to give her complete credit card number loudly over the cell phone to a merchant she was talking to. I then said in a loud voice...hey did you hear that...she's giving us all her credit card information! I told her she was an idiot and finished my banking. Why do people on cell phones think the public cares to listen to their affairs of what they are having for dinner, who's picking up the kids, who sleeping with who, and hello...can you hear me...hello?Are you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?
don't even get me started!

I had similar situations, there is this idiot at work that doesn't know the meaning of ETIQUETTE, the guy has no manners

and is SO rude because he's on the phone 24/7 in public, in restaurants, while driving with a carpool, and the sad part is

everybody has to listen his LAME and STUPID conversations, just makes feel repulsive, everybody at work is so sick of him.
Not so much as tired but people should learn proper cell phone etiquette. Me, personally, I do not use my phone while on a crowded elevator and I try not to talk long if I am in a store or on line to pay for something. I am a private person so I like my conversations to be between the person I am on the phone with and myself. If people practice common courtesy, they would see the error they make when using their cell phones. Are you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?
Yeah, this bugged the hell out of me...5 YEARS AGO. Have you been living in a cave?

Seriously, its just become background noise to me. Its like being at a ball game or standing near a busy intersection. Its just 'noise' in the background.
Lol I think it's funny! And plus I like to know what they are talking about. Are you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?
Yes. That's why my ipod is my best friend.
If I ever talk on my phone in public, I try to talk quietly so that nobody hears me, lol. What I can't stand is people who talk on their phones while they're checking out at the grocery store or wherever else they are buying something. It's rude and they completely ignore the cashier. If my phone rings, I just don't answer it until I'm out of the store. If I happen to be on the phone while approaching the register, I'll tell the person I gotta go. It's all just common sense, but it's not so common. And I'm 24, but I always remember my dad talking about common sense and knowing how and when to use it. Common sense, common courtesy, etc. Some people just don't have it.
I feel like there are certain places that you should quiet down, see my problem is I'm a loud person by nature, but I think that stems from coming from a large family being the only girl and always having to shout in order for anyone to hear me. But again if I am in a bank, at the gym, on the bus or jsut in an enclosed area I don't use my cellphone. Some people are jsut rude, I'm from NYC so trust me I totally get what you're saying.
I agree with you totally. I loath cell phone users in public. I work in a public library and we have cell phone users ALL the time. We (meaning, me) used to ask the 'offenders' to take their calls to the library lobby. However, the acoustics in the library are worse than any place in the library. Now, we ask them to speak quietly. Lately, I haven't had to ask people to lower their voices.

The girl who cut you off was rude. If her call is so important, then, she should have completed it before she got in line. Also, she's stupid-- giving her credit card number in public. What an idiot!

Like you, I don't care to listen to other people's conversations- especially in public. I miss the days when there weren't cell phones. Phone calls were made at home in privacy.

Times, they are a changing, and sometimes, not for good.

Hang in there.
